Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Koucherov became the first Russian in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL) to reach 130 points during an NHL regular season.
On Wednesday, Kucherov scored a hat-trick in the match against the Toronto Maple Leafs (4:1). The 30-year-old Russian now has 130 points (42+88) in 74 regular season matches. Previously, none of the Russian hockey players in the NHL achieved this.
In the 2018/19 season, Kucherov scored 128 points (41+87). Additionally, Russians scored 120 or more points during the regular season Alexander Mogilny (127, 1992/93 season) and Sergei Fedorov (120, 1993/94).
Additionally, Kucherov became the fifth NHL player in the last 30 years to achieve such a feat. During the 1993/94 season, the account Wayne Gretzky there were 130 points. Also on this list Jaromir Jagr (149 during the 1995/96 season), Connor McDavid (153 in the 2022/23 season) and Mario Lemieux (161 during the 1995/96 season).
