Eight players were sent off before the end of the match
In a regular season match NHL between New York Rangers And New Jersey Devils A team fight started in the first second of the meeting.
Immediately after the puck was dropped, all ten skaters from both teams dropped their gloves and began fighting among themselves. Note that the judges expected such a development of events, allowing the hockey players to throw out their emotions.
Presumably, the cause of the fight was an incident in a match between these teams in March. Rangers rookie Matthew Rempe elbowed Devils player Jonas Siegenthaler, for which he was ejected for the rest of the game and received a four-game suspension.
Rempe also took part in today’s fight. As a result, the referees sent off eight players before the end of the match, four from each team. Two more hockey players received a five-minute penalty.
The Rangers are leading the Eastern Conference and have secured their spot in the playoffs ahead of schedule. The Devils suffered their third defeat in a row and occupy 13th place in the East.
