Russian defender “Tampa Bay Lightning » Mikhail Sergachev assessed his condition based on the results of the first training session with the team after leg surgery.
In February, the 25-year-old hockey player underwent surgery in New York after injuring his left leg. On April 8, the Russian held his first training session on ice with the main team.
– I felt good. I like this. Being out there with the guys is way better than practicing on the ice alone or with a few guys. I just wanted to see how fast I was going.
We have a great team of coaches who work hard to make sure we feel comfortable when we get on the ice. If there is an injury, they stay and work with us, so there are no unpleasant surprises. We did everything correctly.
I haven’t recovered yet, so I can’t say how long it will take me, but so far everything is going well,” Sergachev was quoted as saying by the club’s press service.
Sergachev played 34 games in the NHL regular season this season, scored two goals and gave 17 assists.
