The court of the city of Vsevolozhsk of the Leningrad region will start preparing the case of the hockey player Ivan Fedotov at his trial on August 11. This was announced in the court’s electronic filing cabinet on Tuesday.
Earlier, Fedotov’s defense filed a lawsuit in court to overturn the commission’s decision to call up a hockey player for military service. The plaintiff in the case is the athlete himself, the defendant is the Editorial Board of St. Petersburg. The statement was accepted for proceedings on July 21.
25-year-old Russian national team goalkeeper Fedotov, who signed a contract with Philadelphia in May, has been arrested in St. Petersburg on suspicion of escaping military service. He was taken to Severodvinsk, where he is expected to take the military oath in August.
Fedotov is the silver medalist of the 2022 Olympics, the winner of the Gagarin Cup with CSKA. In May, the player signed a contract with the Philadelphia NHL club.
