Chief referee Ivan Fateev left the ice during the fifth game of the Fonbet KHL Championship semi-final playoff series between Magnitogorsk “Metallurgist” and Yekaterinburg “Motorist” having been injured.
The referee was injured after a collision with Metallurg striker Nikita Mikhailis. The referee fell face down on the hockey player’s skate, after which, accompanied by a doctor, he went to the grandstand room.
The match is currently taking place in Magnitogorsk, the score is 2:1 in favor of the hosts. At the end of the second period, the reserve referee comes into play.
