Shumi Babaev: “None of the KHL players went to the Slovak national team because they are nursing illnesses after a difficult season”

Hockey agent Shumi Babaev told that Slovak hockey players playing in KHL clubs did not go to the Slovak national team because they decided to treat their injuries after a difficult season.

Previously, the Slovak Hockey Federation announced that it would not call players from KHL clubs to the national team for the upcoming world championship, citing the “personal situation” of hockey players as a reason.

— None of the KHL players joined the Slovak national team because they were nursing illnesses after a difficult season. As I understand it, the guys directly told the federation that for certain reasons they could not go to the World Championships, and that is why such a decision was made.

— So we shouldn’t look for a political context in the declaration of the Slovak Hockey Federation?

– No, because the players themselves said so. I know that Yurcho will not go to the World Championship either, because he wants to rest after the season, get treatment and prepare for the next season in the KHL. Tchaikovsky was also injured, so the situation here is simple,” Babaev told .
