CEO “Lada” Alexander Chebotarev told he would feel sorry for the defender Mislav Rosandich if he does not participate in the World Cup as part of the Slovak national team due to his performance in the KHL.
Previously, the Slovak Hockey Federation announced that it would not call players from KHL clubs to the national team for the upcoming world championship, citing the “personal situation” of hockey players as a reason. Slovak defender Mislav Rosandić plays for Lada.
— Not calling players to the World Championship because they play in the KHL is 100% discrimination. Hockey players are players who are free to choose their place of work for a certain period, the country of work. They play hockey, bring positive emotions to people, what does politics have to do with it? I don’t understand this either in relation to foreigners who play in the KHL, or in relation to our guys. It would be a shame for Rosandić if, due to the fact that he played in the KHL, he did not go to the World Championship as part of the Slovak national team. But at the same time, he made his choice at some point. With all these phenomena happening in our sport, I think such a decision could have been expected,” Chebotarev told .
The World Championships will take place in Prague and Ostrava from May 10 to 26. It will take place without the participation of the Russian and Belarusian national teams.
