Russian attacker “Minnesota” Kirill Kaprizov set a franchise record for power play goals in a season, the league’s press service reports.
He scored a double in the NHL regular season game against “San Jose” (6:2).
The Russian scored his second goal in this meeting on the power play. The goal was Kaprizov’s 18th this season, as the team played with a power play. The 26-year-old striker set a new club record for this indicator and surpassed his own achievement (17 goals), which he set last season.
For Kaprizov, this double was his 10th this season, repeating the Minnesota record previously held single-handedly by Marian Gaborik (2007/08 season).
Kaprizov scored 23 goals in the season’s away matches and also broke Gaborik’s club record (22 goals), which he set in the 2002/03 season.
In total, in the match against San Jose, Kaprizov scored 3 (2+1) points. For the 11th time this season, he played a match in which he scored at least 3 scoring points. It was also an update to his personal and club bests (10 matches).
