Former Lada and Spartak striker Nikita Filatov suggested that in the final of the Gagarin Cup, where Lokomotiv from Yaroslavl will meet the winner of the Metallurg – Avtomobilist duo, a maximum of five matches will be played.
Lokomotiv, led by Igor Nikitin, had already reached the final of the Gagarin Cup by beating Traktor in the semi-final (4-0).
— I think that, although it’s probably wrong to say this, there won’t be a lot of intrigue in the finale. “Magnitka” and “Avtomobilist” proved a lot; they deserved to reach the final, beating very serious opponents. But even if Lokomotiv didn’t have the freshness factor, they would still be the favorites for the final. “Magnitka” and “Avtomobilist” reached the seventh game, this will inevitably affect the series. It seems to me that the final series will not last more than five matches. “Lokomotiv will win a maximum of five matches, no matter who they play against,” RB Sport quotes Filatov.
If Metallurg wins the seventh match of the semi-final series, which will take place on April 15, the final will begin in Magnitogorsk. If Avtomobilist succeeds, it will be in Yaroslavl.
The seventh match will be broadcast live on the channel, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites. The broadcast begins at 4:45 p.m.
