Defender of Nizhny Novgorod “Torpedo” Anton Silaev took first place in the 2024 National Hockey League (NHL) draft rankings among players not playing in North America, according to the NHL website.
Silaev is 18 years old. In the 2023/24 season, the defender played 68 KHL regular season and playoff matches, scored three goals and provided 10 assists.
“It’s not very often that you come across a defenseman who is 200 cm tall and weighs 95 kg, who has excellent skating, excellent puck handling and other individual qualities that allow him to be considered as a promising player. “He has the sharp mind, instincts and composure to read and react to the game,” said Dan Marr, vice president of NHL Central Scouting.
The second place in the ranking was taken by the striker of SKA from St. Petersburg Ivan Demidov the first three were closed by the Finnish striker “Yukurita” Consta Hélène . Dynamo Moscow striker Igor Chernyshov ranked ninth.
The North American player rankings were topped by Canadian forward McLean Celebrini of Boston University, followed by Belarusian Artem Levshunov, who plays for Michigan State University.
The draft will take place on June 28 and 29 in Paradise (Nevada, USA).
