Athletistic / Hockey. On the night of April 17, all participants in the Eastern Conference NHL playoffs were known. Eight lucky winners already know their opponents for the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup.
The regular season winner, the New York Rangers, will begin the playoffs with a series against the Washington Capitals. Last night, the capital became the last participant in the cup battles, defeating the Philadelphia Flyers (2:1).
The finalists of the last Stanley Cup of the Eastern Conference, the Florida Panthers, will face the Tampa Bay Lightnins at the start of the playoffs. It should be noted that both teams are based in Florida and their confrontation can therefore be described as a derby.
NHL Playoffs First Round Pairings – 2024:
- New York Rangers – Washington Capitals;
- Carolina Hurricanes – New York Islanders;
- Florida Panthers – Tampa Bay Lightning;
- Boston Bruins – Toronto Maple Leafs;
The first paired teams will begin the series with two home matches. Note that Carolina and the Islanders will open the Eastern Conference playoffs. Their first match will take place on April 20 and will start at 23:00 Moscow time.
