The blue-and-yellows took the lead after the first period, but ultimately lost in overtime
Ukraine U-18 national hockey team was defeated by Germany in overtime in the third round match Division IA on World Championship 2024 – 1:2.
In the duel between the group leaders, the Ukrainian youths were able to win the first period – Gavriil Simchuk managed to convert the majority. The Germans bounced back at the end of the second period through the efforts of Elias Poel.
The fate of the winner of the confrontation was determined by overtime. In it, the victory for the German U-18 team was brought by a combination completed by Lenny Boos.
After three rounds, the German team with 8 points became the sole leaders of the group. Ukraine ranks second with seven points. Tomorrow, April 18, the blue-yellows will compete with their peers from Hungary in the fourth round.
