KHL Vice President for Youth Hockey Development Alexander Guskov explained why the dates for the OLIMPBET MHL Championship Final Series were announced later than usual.
In the final of the Kharlamov Cup, SKA-1946 from St. Petersburg will play with Yaroslavl Loko, the series will begin on April 17 in Yaroslavl. The final series of the Fonbet KHL Championship, in which Metallurg Magnitogorsk and Lokomotiv will meet, will begin on April 18 in Magnitogorsk.
— The dates of the MHL and KHL final series were known before the start of the season and were separated on different days. Unfortunately, in March there was a tragedy (terrorist attack at the Crocus town hall near Moscow – Editor’s note), which affected all leagues and affected the calendar. We worked on the scenario, informed all the clubs, they knew the schedule at the start. The league worked professionally. I’m glad we were able to separate these two big events. Thanks to this, fans will be able to watch the latest matches of both leagues every day,” Guskov was quoted as saying by the MHL press service.
