The blue-yellows continue to fight for first place
Ukraine U-18 national hockey team broke Hungary in the fourth round 2024 World Championships in Division IA — 7:3.
Alexander Bobkin’s team opened the scoring in the fifth minute of the match. By the middle of the second period, the blue-yellows crushed the opponent 5:0, but then Hungary returned to the game.
The teams exchanged goals in the third period, after which the Hungarian hockey players reduced the gap to two goals. Alexey Evtekhov defused the tense situation by scoring into an empty net in the last minute of the match.
The Ukrainian team scored 10 points and temporarily took first place in Division IA. The blue-yellows have the opportunity to displace the German team, which is meeting with Japan. In the final round, Ukraine U-18 will meet Austria on April 20.
