general manager Vancouver Canucks Patrick Allwyn announced that the club had reached an agreement with the striker Vasily Podkolzin about the new contract, reports the press service of the National Hockey League (NHL) club
A new two-year contract has been signed with the 22-year-old Russian. According to insider Rick Dhaliwal, Podkolzin’s salary will be $1 million per season.
“We are happy with how Vasily has worked hard on his game, trying to become a more consistent player. While he still has room to grow, they demonstrate the type of commitment and dedication we expect from all of our players. Our club hopes to help Vasily continue to improve and become better,” said the general director.
Podkolzin played for Vancouver and Abbotsford (AHL) this season, scoring 2 (0+2) points in 18 NHL games, as well as 28 points (15+13) in 44 AHL games.
Podkolzin was originally selected by Vancouver in the first round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, 10th overall.
