Athletistic / Hockey. Early in the morning of April 19 (Moscow time), the regular NHL championship ended. At the end of the final day, all the pairs in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs were determined.
In the East, the teams found out their opponents as early as April 17, but in the West it was decided until the last minute who would become the opponent of the best team in the regular season of this conference – the Dallas Stars.
NHL Playoffs First Round Pairings – 2024:
Eastern Conference
- New York Rangers – Washington Capitals;
- Carolina Hurricanes – New York Islanders;
- Florida Panthers – Tampa Bay Lightning;
- Boston Bruins – Toronto Maple Leafs.
Western Conference
- Dallas Stars – Vegas Golden Knights;
- Edmonton Oilers – Los Angeles Kings;
- Winnipeg Jets – Colorado Avalanche;
- Vancouver Canucks – Nashville Predators.
The first paired teams will begin the series with two home matches. Carolina and the Islanders will open the playoffs. Their first match will take place on April 21 and will start at 00:00 Moscow time.
