The Pittsburgh defender, who suffered two strokes during his career, will undergo a special medical examination after this season.

Pittsburgh defender Kris Letang will have to undergo an additional examination due to health problems, indicated the club’s general manager, Kyle Dubas.

Letang played in all 82 regular season games for the first time in his 18-year career, recording 10 goals and 41 assists.

“Chris intends to get a second opinion on anything that’s bothering him, and that’s important.” He played with it all year. We will have updated information as soon as he makes a decision on this,” Dubas said, as quoted by the Pittsburgh press service.

The 36-year-old hockey player’s contract with “Pittsburgh” calculated until the end of the 2027/28 season. He earns $6.1 million per year.

The three-time Stanley Cup winner suffered two strokes during his career. Pittsburgh missed the playoffs for the second year in a row.
