Metallurg won both home matches against Lokomotiv (2:1, 1:0) and leads the best-of-four series with a score of 2-0.
– How unexpected was it for you that it turned out to be leading 2-0 in the series?
– I wouldn’t say it’s unexpected. We went there, we had the goal of winning two home games and we achieved it.
– How did it happen?
– We blocked the shots and did not lose the fight. The coaching staff immediately told us to fight for every neutral puck.
– What did the team think of the fact that Lokomotiv was considered the obvious favorite in the series?
– We weren’t paying attention. We had a few days off between episodes. We moved away from the press, we had to head towards the final. They didn’t look at who wrote what. And now we prove everything with our game.
– What can you expect from the matches in Yaroslavl?
– We will play our hockey – actively, brazenly, with the puck. Shoot more, cover the goalie.
– Will the opponent play more actively in front of their stands?
– We will have the motivation to calm down the opposing stands. A sufficient number of our fans will also come, they will push us forward,” Yurov said, as quoted by RB Sport.
The third match of the series will take place on April 22 in Yaroslavl.
