Sam Rinehart, Carter Verhaeghe and Matthew Tkachuk scored for the Panthers, while Brandon Heigel and Steven Stamkos scored for the Lightning. In the episode with Stamkos’ puck 10 seconds before the final siren, Nikita Kucherov was the author of the assist.

Florida goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 17 of 19 shots on his own goal, while his Tampa opponent, Andrei Vasilevsky, had 25 shots.

The teams’ second match will take place at Sunrise on April 23.
