Assistant head coach “Ak Barsa” Yuri Babenko told that a possible appointment to CSKA is one of his job options heading into next season.
Babenko has been the assistant head coach of Ak Bars since the 2022/23 season. His contract with the Kazan club runs until April 30, 2024. Before that, the 46-year-old specialist managed Vityaz near Moscow and worked as an assistant coach at Dynamo Moscow and in the Russian youth team.
— I can’t say anything before April 30, because I have a valid contract with Ak Bars. CSKA is one of the options for further work, but I can’t say “yes” or “no” yet. On May 1, everything will be clear,” Babenko told .
In March, Zinetula Bilyaletdinov left the post of head coach of Ak Bars.
