The Russian attackerWashington » Alexander Ovechkin surpassed three Canadian Stanley Cup winners in number of games played in the NHL playoffs.

Washington lost to the New York Rangers on Sunday in the first game of the first round of the Stanley Cup with a score of 1:4.

Alexander Ovechkin did not make a single shot on the goal of Russian goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin and did not score any effective actions. Ovechkin spent 19 minutes 36 seconds on the ice with a utility rating of -1. This game was the Russian’s 148th in the NHL playoffs. Ovechkin ranked 101st in Stanley Cup history in terms of number of games played.

Canadians are being left behind Brad Marchand , Martin Gelina and Yvan Cournoyer. All three played in 147 playoff games and won the Stanley Cup in different years.
