NHL club “Buffalo” announced on its official website the return of the Canadian Lindy Raffa as head coach of the team.
Details of the agreement with the 64-year-old specialist were not disclosed. As head coach, he replaced Don Granato, who led the team for four seasons.
In March, Ruff was fired by the New Jersey Devils, who failed to lead the team to the NHL playoffs this season. The Canadian led Buffalo from 1997 to 2013. He holds the club record for most regular season games (1,165) and wins (571) as a coach, as well as Stanley Cup games (101) and victories (57).
This season, Buffalo took 12th place in the Eastern Conference with 84 points and did not qualify for the NHL playoffs.
