NHL playoffs: Edmonton and Vegas start with victories

The National Hockey League played four games in the first round of the Stanley Cup last night.

Dallas’ start in the NHL playoffs ended unexpectedly. The Stars, who won the Western Conference championship and have the number one seed, lost at home to Vegas, finishing eighth.
