The 2024 Gagarin Cup has become the most attended in the history of the league, the press service reports KHL .
A total of 751,703 spectators attended the tournament matches this year. The previous record was set during the 2022/2023 season, when the tournament welcomed 729,876 spectators.
In addition, the completed playoffs set a record for average attendance – 9,396 spectators. The previous achievement for this indicator was set in the 2018/2019 season – 8,659 spectators.
Magnitogorsk Metallurg defeated Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (2:1) on Wednesday in the fourth match of the final series of the Fonbet KHL Championship playoffs and won the Gagarin Cup. The series ended with a score of 4-0.
