Andrei Razin spoke about his coaching ambitions

The head coach “Metallurgist » Andrei Razin told that he wants to win another Gagarin Cup.

Magnitogorsk Metallurg defeated Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (2:1) on Wednesday in the fourth match of the final series of the Fonbet KHL Championship playoffs and won the Gagarin Cup. The series ended with a score of 4-0. Razin took over as manager of Metallurg in April 2023. He won the Gagarin Cup with the team in his first season. Before that, the specialist worked at Severstal.

— Is this the pinnacle of your coaching career?

— I have big ambitions, honestly. There is a desire to move forward, to move forward.

– Where is it higher? National team?

– Well, you see, there is room for improvement. I would like to win another Gagarin Cup. We have coaches in the KHL who have won several cups at once. There is an incentive to catch up with them.

—Do you feel like you’re in a fairy tale now?

“I have been working on this for a long time and it seems to me that this is how it should be.” Everything is done in stages. Everything is natural.

— You talked about coaching ambitions. If they call you to the NHL, can you work there?

– I don’t know English well. We have to learn it,” Razin told .

Metallurg became three times winner of the Gagarin Cup. Previously, the Magnitogorsk club won in the 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons. In terms of the number of trophies, Metallurg is equal to Ak Bars (2009, 2010, 2018) and CSKA (2019, 2022, 2023).
