Athletistic/Hockey. Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin made career-worst shots in the first two games of the NHL playoff series. In the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup against the New York Rangers, Ovechkin only made one shot in the first two games of the series.

The forward’s previous lowest performances were the 2012 playoffs against the Boston Bruins (four shots) and the 2018 Stanley Cup Final against the Vegas Golden Knights (five shots).

However, in the third game against the Rangers, Ovechkin managed to improve his performance by making four shots on goal.

The Rangers finished the NHL regular season first in the Eastern Conference with 114 points. “Washington” took eighth place in the East, with 91 points.
