General manager “Carolina Hurricanes » Don Waddell named Russian striker Andrei Svechnikov the team’s best power forward.
In the last regular season, Svechnikov played 57 matches and scored 52 (19+33) points. In the playoffs, the Russian has 5 (1+4) points in five games.
Last season, Svechnikov sat out the playoffs due to a torn cruciate ligament injury.
— If you look at our team, Svechnikov is definitely our best power forward. He’s not afraid of anyone. This gives us the power we lacked last year,” Waddell said, as quoted by AP.
In the first round of the Stanley Cup, Carolina defeated the New York Islanders 4-1. The Hurricanes will face the New York Rangers in the second round.
