Athletistic / Hockey. Vancouver Canucks Latvian goaltender Artur Shilov scored a shutout in Game 6 of the first round of the NHL playoffs against the Nashville Predators (1:0). He became the fifth rookie goaltender in the last 30 years to shut out a game that would have sent his team to the next round of the playoffs.

Previously, during this period, only Akira Schmid (2023), Matt Murray (2017), Carey Price (2008) and Ilya Bryzgalov (2006) achieved this.

Vancouver defeated Nashville in Game 6 of the series and advanced to the next round of the NHL playoffs.

“Vancouver” had to use Shilov after injuries to the two main goalkeepers Casey Desmith and Thatcher Demko.

This season, Shilov played three games in the NHL. On average, he stopped 93.7% of shots and the goalie safety factor was 1.70.
