Former hockey player in several KHL clubs Nikita Shchitov said he doubts Avangard’s prospects under head coach Sergei Zvyagin in the new season.
The Omsk club approved 53-year-old Zvyagin as head coach, signing a contract with him until the end of the 2025/26 season. In March, Zvyagin replaced Mikhail Kravets, who was fired during the KHL quarterfinal playoff series with Lokomotiv (3-4).
— Pavel Koledov moved to Avangard Omsk. Honestly, I thought he would go to a more serious club, for example SKA or CSKA. I have doubts about Avangard Omsk. “I doubt Sergei Zvyagin, so I cannot unambiguously assess this transition,” Shchitov said, as quoted by RB Sport.
