Athletistic / Football. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Moscow Football Dynamo Dmitry Gafin spoke about the possible invitation of Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin to the blue and white base.
“We haven’t called Ovechkin yet. But Alexander and I communicate well. Would you like to invite him? When he comes to Moscow, we will discuss and decide on our joint plans,” Gafin said, as quoted by Sport-Express.
Alexander Ovechkin made his NHL debut in October 2005. Since then, the Caps have made the playoffs for the 15th time. In the 2023/2024 season, the 38-year-old Russian played 79 regular season matches, scored 31 goals and provided 34 assists.
Washington was eliminated from the NHL playoffs after the first round, losing after four games to the New York Rangers (0-4 in the series). Ovechkin did not score a single point in the 2024 Stanley Cup in the “goal+pass” system.
