The IIHF suspended goaltender Fedotov for 3 years from participation in all tournaments under its auspices, including the 2026 Olympic Games.

The Disciplinary Council of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has decided to suspend the Russian goalkeeper Ivan Fedotova to participate in all competitions under its auspices, including the 2026 Olympic Games, according to the official IIHF website.

Last August, the IIHF announced that Fedotov violated his professional player contract by signing a deal with CSKA Moscow without the permission of the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers, with whom he has an existing contract. The hockey player was disqualified for four months from September 1, 2023. CSKA was also sanctioned with a ban on international transfers for a period of one year from August 11, 2023.

Last season, 27-year-old Fedotov played 44 matches for CSKA in the KHL regular season, during which he won 21 victories with a reliability coefficient of 2.37 and 91.4% reflected shots. He also has five matches and a victory in the Gagarin Cup.

In the spring, Fedotov terminated his contract with CSKA and moved to Philadelphia.
