In the 2023/24 season, Metallurg won the Gagarin Cup, beating Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the final (4-0). Previously, the Magnitogorsk club won in the 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons.
— During the 2023/24 season, the Kontinental Hockey League continued to implement the anti-doping program in close cooperation with RUSADA. In accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code, only RUSADA has the right and ability to determine which athletes and when will be subject to the testing procedure in Russia.
From September 2023 to April 2024, the league conducted 432 studies, including 128 tests in the Fonbet KHL Championship playoffs. During the KHL regular season and playoffs, all teams were tested and the number of tests depended on the number of games played.
Compared to the 2022/23 season, the total number of studies increased by 13%. During the playoffs of the 2023/24 season, the teams that played the greatest number of matches were tested most often: Metallurg (9 matches, 18 players), Lokomotiv (8 matches, 16 players), Avtomobilist (7 matches , 14 players).
During the 2024/25 season, the League plans to increase the number of doping controls, the statement said.
