“The hockey season in Russia is over, it’s time to take stock.
Our team hosted two major tournaments: the Channel One Cup in December and the team’s Betting League Grand Tour in May. Our team won all eight matches, scoring 36 goals – we always strive to please our fans with an effective game, especially at a time when the Russian national team meets only twice a year.
I would like to say a huge thank you to the organizers of the team’s Grand Tour in all cities – we felt that our team was expected, prepared and everything took place at the highest level. I sincerely thank the governor of the Omsk region, Pavel Vitalievich Khotsenko, and Alexey Gennadievich Dyumin, who brilliantly worked as governor of the Tula region and was appointed assistant to the President of Russia yesterday. Their efforts helped make the matches in Omsk and Tula truly bright and memorable.
Of course, thanks to all the clubs whose representatives were part of the national team. We invited hockey players from 11 teams, and the team included natives of 21 cities based on their place of birth – we can say with confidence that our team represented all of Russia. We understand that after such a busy season, playing international matches is not an easy challenge, but it is very pleasing that all our players always respond willingly to the call of the national team. Of course, it made no sense to invite those who were recovering from injuries or who had just finished the club season, but all the guys who came to the national team tried their best. It couldn’t be otherwise with the support we felt throughout the Tour.
Thanks again to the fans of the Russian national team from all over the country. We play for you,” Rotenberg wrote on his Telegram channel.
