Athletistic/Hockey. Not so long ago, the goalkeeper of the Russian national hockey team, Ivan Fedotov, was called up for military service. At the beginning of July, he was arrested and taken to the military commissariat, then sent to a military unit in Severodvinsk. Former Traktor goalkeeper Andrey Batalov spoke about this situation.

– I’m not particularly into the subject, but it seems to me that Fedotov was at the wrong time and in the wrong place. But you need to think with your head whether you can be in Severodvinsk or even Severodonetsk. Of course, it is better not to join the army, but the law is the law and it must be obeyed. There are official ways to avoid the service.

Fedotov probably figured out that not everything was in order with his military ID. As someone who has been through the fighting, I believe there is no need to serve everyone. Those with the will and the spirit have to fight, Batalov said as quoted by RB Sport.

In 2022, Ivan Fedotov, as part of the Russian national hockey team, became the silver medalist of the Olympic Games, and as part of CSKA he won the Gagarin Cup. In May, the goalkeeper signed a contract with Philadelphia.
