14 clubs will participate in the Extraleague for the 2024/2025 season. The flagship of Belarusian hockey, Dynamo Minsk, will continue to play in the KHL.
There is HC “Slavutich” in Smolensk. Previously the team participated in the VHL championship, but before the start of the 2017/2018 season it was decided to withdraw the team from the championship due to lack of funding. Interestingly, on December 12, 2023, the Belarusian Hockey Federation announced that HC Slavutich had submitted an application to participate in the country’s national championship.
