Team Canada defeated the team Swiss during the group stage match of the 2024 Ice Hockey World Championship.
The Group A match took place in Prague and ended with a score of 3:2 (1:1, 2:1, 0:0) in favor of the Canadians. Dylan Cozens scored a brace for the winners and Nick Paul scored another goal. Kevin Fiala and Romain Löffel scored for the Swiss.
Team Canada scored 17 points and topped its group standings, with Switzerland (14) in third place. Both teams had previously guaranteed themselves access to the playoffs of the tournament.
In a side match of Group B, the Latvian team defeated the Slovaks on penalties – 3:2 (1:0, 0:0, 1:2, 0:0, 1:0). The author of the winning shootout was Dans Lochmelis.
