Athletistic/Hockey. Today, May 19, a Group B match of the World Hockey Championship took place in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The Slovak national team met the Latvian national team.

The regular time of the match ended in a 2:2 draw. The authors of the Slovak goals were Martin Pospisil and Peter Ceglarik. Ralfs Freibergs and Oskars Cibulskis scored for the Latvians.

Overtime brought no goals. The match ended in a shootout. There the Latvians won 3:2. The decisive throw was made by Dans Lokmelis.

Slovakia is fourth in Group A with 12 points. Latvia has nine points and is fifth.
