Athletistic / Hockey. Carolina Hurricanes forward Evgeny Kuznetsov summed up the season. The 31-year-old Russian thanked the Hurricanes for the chance to continue his career in the NHL.
“It’s a great opportunity for me. I tried to be myself and help the team win. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do that this year. It sucks to finish the season like this because I think we deserved the right to a seventh game in the series against New York City. York Rangers. The defeat in the sixth home game was very painful for me personally.
I always have a choice: I can cry because I don’t get much playing time, or I can accept it and start helping the team in any way. I will do whatever is good for Carolina. “I am very grateful to this organization for the opportunity to play in the NHL,” Kuznetsov said, as quoted by the Carolina press service.
In the 2024 Stanley Cup, Evgeny Kuznetsov played 10 games and scored 6 (4+2) performance points. Carolina lost in the second round of the NHL playoffs to the Rangers (2-4).
Kuznetsov’s contract with Carolina runs through the end of next season. It should be noted that 50% of his salary ($3.9 million out of $7.8 million) will continue to be paid to him by his former club, the Washington Capitals.
