Athletistic/Hockey. On Tuesday, May 21, the final matches of the group stage of the 2024 World Hockey Championship took place.
The Austrian team unexpectedly lost to Group A outsiders Great Britain (2:4). In a brilliant match, Germany won a voluntary victory over France – 6:3.
Canada defeated the Czech Republic (4:3) in the match between the leaders of Group A in overtime and took first place in the standings. The American team defeated Latvia – 6:3.
Also today, Sweden and Switzerland triumphed, beating Slovakia (6:1) and Finland (3:1) respectively.
Great Britain and Poland left the elite division.
The 2024 World Cup takes place from May 10 to 26 in the Czech Republic. The current world champion is the Canadian team.
