Athletistic / Hockey. New York Rangers forward Artemi Panarin shared his expectations for the start of the NHL Eastern Conference final series with the Florida Panthers. The Russian spoke about his friendship with Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.
“Bobrovsky is my best friend in hockey. He is a wonderful person. All day long we can talk to him about everything and be absolutely frank. With some people we can talk about a few topics, but with Seryoga we can discuss everything – both good and bad We have a very sincere relationship with him.
When I was traded to Columbus, I was upset. But when we met Bobrovsky, when our wives met, we immediately found a common language.
I was a big fan of his during the last playoffs. At first I didn’t write to him, but after they won the next round, we talked about our wives and family matters. “I tried not to bother him, but I was very worried about him when Florida reached the Stanley Cup final,” the NHL press service quotes Panarin.
The first game of the series between the Rangers and Florida will take place on the night of May 23 in New York and will begin at 3:00 p.m. Moscow time.
Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky were teammates on the Columbus Blue Jackets for two seasons.
