Athletistic / Hockey. Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin’s bank account in Russia has been blocked due to debts. The 38-year-old hockey player did not cover his debt of 49,000 rubles.

According to Mash, in Russia Ovechkin owns an international hockey academy named after him, as well as Russian Machine LLC, which sells wholesale products, and an individual entrepreneur with a debt of 49,093 rubles. This company is engaged in the production and sale of clothing, sporting goods and sports activities. After the inspection, the Federal Tax Service blocked the account of Ovechkin’s individual entrepreneur and sent a decision on this to the bank.

Alexander Ovechkin scored 853 goals during his career in regular NHL championships. He is now 41 goals away from Gretzky’s record (894). The 38-year-old Russian’s contract with the Washington Capitals is valid for two more seasons.

The Russian played in the NHL in 2005. In June 2018, he helped Washington win the first Stanley Cup in club history.
