Team Czech Republic reached the final of the world hockey championship at home by defeating the team Sweden (7:3).
In the first half, the Swedes took the lead twice thanks to goals from Marcus Johansson and Marcus Pettersson, but the Czechs fought back each time thanks to the efforts of Dominik Kubalik and David Kampf.
In the second half, the Czech team scored three goals in three minutes – the goals were scored by Ondrej Kaše, Martin Necas and Kubalik, who scored a double.
Then Joel Eriksson Ek scored against the Swedes, to which the tournament hosts responded with a brace from former Chelyabinsk Traktor striker Lukas Sedlak. Another empty-net goal by Sedlak was disallowed after video review.
The Czech Republic became the first finalist of the championship, Sweden will play in the match for the bronze medal. Canada and Switzerland will also meet in the semifinals later Saturday.
