Sweden won over Canada in the match for third place 2024 Ice Hockey World Championship – 4:2.
The Scandinavians won the first period with a minimal score thanks to an accurate shot from Carl Grundström. The second 20-minute segment was left to the Canadians (Dylan Cozens scored), and at the beginning of the third period Pierre-Luc Dubois brought the North American team ahead.
After that, the Swedes managed to turn the game around and make a comeback, scoring three goals in a row. Grundström scored a double.
Tre Krunur was able to win medals for the first time in the last five World Championships. For the first time since 2018, Canada did not make it into the top three.
The final match of the 2024 World Cup between the Czech Republic (host of the tournament) and Switzerland will take place today. Starts at 21:20 Kyiv time.
