American defender from Carolina Jacob Slavin became the owner of the individual prize “Lady Byng Trophy”, reports the official website of the NHL.
The award is given to the player who demonstrates fair sportsmanship and courteous behavior combined with great playing skill.
Slavin took first place according to the voting results. Elias Pettersson (Vancouver) and Auston Matthews (Toronto) were also in the running for the award.
Carolina was eliminated from the Stanley Cup in the second round, losing to the Rangers (2-4).
