Romain Rotenberg discussed with the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin the creation of a team of young stars from Russia – a team of players under the age of 25, reports the press service of the FHR.
At the meeting held in Moscow, the parties also discussed the development of a new discipline – hockey in the “3 on 3” format.
“At the end of the meeting, the minister presented the first vice-president of the RHF with a State honorary prize “For the development of physical culture and sports”, which was awarded to him by decree of the July 11,” the post read. .
Rotenberg thanked the minister for supporting hockey. Matytsin noted the success the FHR achieved during Rotenberg’s work, particularly the creation of the national hockey player training program “Red Machine”, the gold of the Pyeongchang Olympics.
Russian teams have been suspended from participating in international competitions by decision of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) due to the situation in Ukraine.
