The IOC continues to work on the participation of NHL players in the 2026 Olympics and has achieved some results. IOC sports director Keith McConnell told reporters.

“Following the announcements from the NHL, the International Hockey Federation, the IOC and the organizing committee for the matches in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, very productive discussions took place and a true spirit of partnership was established. You can imagine how many details remain to be resolved. “The work continues, but in a very good mood, with very good progress in working out the details,” McConnell told TASS.

According to the agreement between the NHL and the players’ union valid until 2026, hockey players were supposed to perform at the 2022 and 2026 Olympics if an agreement was reached with the IIHF and the IOC.
