Athletistic / Hockey. The Florida Panthers press service trolled the Edmonton Oilers after the end of the third game of the 2024 Stanley Cup final series. Last night, the Panthers defeated the visiting Oilers with a score of 4:3 .
“Alberta (province of Canada, whose borders include the city of Edmonton. — Rating Athletistic) has been rat free since 1950… Not anymore,” read Florida’s post on his social media account, which included a list of phone numbers in case rats appeared in Alberta.
In the NHL, the rat has been synonymous with the Florida Panthers since 1996. That year, the Sunrise team reached the playoff final for the first time. Before the first home game of the decisive series, forward Scott Mellanby killed a rat in the Panthers’ locker room, after which he scored two goals. For nearly 30 years, Panthers fans have thrown thousands of plastic rats onto the ice.

Currently, the score in the final series is 3-0 in favor of Florida. The fourth match of the confrontation will take place on the night of June 16 in Edmonton (Canada).
