The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (FHR) has created a new team, which will include hockey players under the age of 25 playing in Russia, according to the organization’s website.
– The project aims to increase the popularity of hockey in the country, drawing additional attention to the system of Russian national teams – youth and junior teams, the pinnacle of which will be, – the message says.
The U25 team will play its first tournament at the Sochi Hockey Open 2022 Stakes League tournament. In May, the team will hold a national tournament, where it will play with KHL clubs in different cities of Russia.
The headquarters of the Russian national teams determined the composition of the Russian U25 team for participation in the Sochi tournament (August 3-9).

The national team gathered in Sochi on July 31, and on August 3 they start the tournament with a match against Avangard Omsk.
