McDavid becomes the new record holder for assists in a single NHL playoff game

Attack Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid set a new record. He beat the achievement Wayne Gretzky Most assists in the playoffs of one NHL season.

In the last match of the final series against the Florida Panthers (8:1), the Canadian scored one goal and three assists. Thanks to this, he became the new record holder with 32 assists during the playoffs, surpassing Wayne Gretzky’s mark in the 1988 playoffs with the same Oilers by one.

This is not the 27-year-old forward’s first record at the NHL level. In March 2023, McDavid became the new leader in points scored in a single season (129) among active hockey players in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Let us remind you that in the fourth match of the final series, Edmonton managed to clear the score in the confrontation with Florida. The Panthers continue to lead the series (3:1) and can claim the championship title at home on June 19.
