Russian attacker “Hershey” Ivan Miroshnichenko scored a goal in Game 2 of the AHL Finals series against Coachella Valley.
The 20-year-old striker opened the scoring in the 6th minute of the match, scoring from mid-distance after a pass from Mike Vecchione. The match ended with a victory for Hershey with a score of 5:2; in the best-of-four series, the score was tied at 1-1.
For Miroshnichenko, the goal was the 7th of the current playoffs. In total, the Russian scored 36 (16+20) points for the Washington farm club this season.
Miroshnichenko was drafted by the Capitals 20th overall in 2022. He was previously diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma; after treatment, the hockey player returned to sports.
